We all know that fashion is cyclical and that trends come and go, but I am always surprised at just how much new styles reflect the old. Flipping through my collection of vintage magazines over the weekend I noticed several editorial shots and ad campaigns from the mid-80s that could almost be relevant for the upcoming Fall '11 season. Almost, but not
quite, as most trends seem to be executed better their second time around. Here are a selection of images that with a bit of updated styling could just maybe pass for Fall-Winter 2011 shots:

Fur, which would work for the upcoming season if it were faux:

This oddly-arranged shot was actually part of an editorial spread about what to wear in space, when luxury space travel becomes the norm in the next few years. Oh 80s, you dreamed big.
