Last week, Julie and I went on a mystical journey (Porter flight) to a magical land (Brooklyn) called New York City. There we ate well, drank even better, observed some truly epic sunsets and oh yeah, did a little SS/14 buying as well. Our trips are inevitably a crazy whirlwind that go by way too fast, but we always make time to stop and smell the craft beer. Check out some of our pics from yet another unforgettable buying trip.
Does it get any better than New York in September? I don't think so.
I'll take an Air Bnb over a hotel any day. How cute was our apartment?!
We had dinner on the gorgeous patio at Frankies in Carroll Gardens.
Followed by tiki drinks at the Clover Club in Cobble Hill.
Then a bar-hop on Smith Street in Cobble Hill.
We found the cutest little flower shop in Williamsburg.
Where we also passed THIS GUY on the street, heading into the Bedford Road subway, obviously. GIRLS will NOT be the same now that he's left the cast :(
At our hungriest moment, we discovered the coolest dive-bar in Williamsburg. Just in the nick of time too, it was getting critical. #hangry
I freaked when I saw their menus, because I'm kind of obssessed.
At the end of a long day, we made our way to the roof bar at the Wythe Hotel where we watched the sun set over the city on one side and Brooklyn on the other.
It's a must-do the next time you're in town.
We managed to fit some work in too.
Our favourite part of the trade shows is always seeing our friends that we only get to see twice a year! Cologne of Show Me Your Mumu kindly modelled her design for us. This dress is to die-for pretty, we'll be getting it in at least two prints for spring.
Their prints this time around are TOO GOOD!
Whitney Port is another cutie we always love catching up with. Every season she's there in her booth to meet buyers and take them through her designs. We have several Whitney Eve pieces in the shop right now, and can't wait to bring in her spring '14 collection.
We're particularly excited about these awesome pants.
We also made some new friends this time around with these LA boys behind streetwear label "The Laundry Room" which we fell in love with and placed a pretty big order. FLAMINGO CITY.
Here are a few of the other finds that we're super excited to receive.
At one point I got side-tracked by the Nicole Miller and Mara Hoffman booths, until I remembered we were not there for wedding-dress shopping. But I mean, COME ON.
We did however make time to do a cake-tasting at the Momofuku Milk Bar in Carroll Gardens. Even if you're not getting married, I highly recommend this activity. We devoured the box. *NOMS*
The rest of the time was spent strolling around Brooklyn, browsing the gorgeous shops and smelling the pretty flowers.
We finished off the trip with a delicious meal and wine at the gorgeous Black Mountain Wine House.
Followed by some last-of-the-patio-season-cocktails at Lavender Lake.
I'm so lucky to have the best travel buddy ever. *Subway selfie!*
