She Does The City X Motorola #MOTOSHOOT event

Last night Julie and I embarked on an epic journey during a torrential downpour that took us along winding roads through forests and valleys (OK fine, Rosedale Valley Road) to strange and unknown lands (Gerrard Street - seriously - what is that?) as we found ourselves deep, deep in the EAST END. I often forget it's there.

But it was well worth the trek when we arrived at the ridiculously amaze-balls launch party for the new Motorola phone, the MotoxPlay, and Moto360 smart-watch, hosted by the lovely ladies of She Does The City.

The team had brought in renound photographer Mike Ruiz and created probably the most fun photobooth ever, full of colourful inflatable props, for a professinal photoshoot with the new MotoxPlay phone. Which, by the way, has by far the best camera of any phone we've ever tried.

These ladies had thought of everything and even had hair and makeup stylists from Judy Inc on hand to take us from drowned-rats to camera ready. There was a candy-bar, a cheese table (OMG) and macarons GALORE. Not to mention all the adorable and highly instagram-able decor.

 Like many fashion girls, we had had our doubts about the actual wearability of "wearable tech", but my god did Motorola change our minds. This watch is not only gorgeous but cool as hell. Twitter?! Uber?! 

You can get email and text alerts, set alarms, check the weather and see when the next streetcar is coming. It connects to your calendar and GPS and even monitors your heart rate and daily heart activity. As soon as I put it on and it registered my height and weight. HOW DOES IT KNOW?? 

And from a fashion perspective, it's a total win-win! You can choose between a variety of faces and change to a new one with a single swipe! The leather bands are interchangeable too, and while the black one was a chic, safe option, isn't this rosegold just TO DIE??

We could not be more thrilled with our new Motorola toys. Thank you again to SDTC for hosting such a fun event and spoiling us silly.
